This webquest was developed as an enrichment activity for a science chapter. It has cross-curricular links with art, math, and social studies. We felt that studying the New Madrid fault would have special significance for our students because of our central location in the United States.
Students should have prior knowledge of:
Illinois Learning Standards Social Studies Standards Addressed

This is an interdisciplinary unit. The teacher of each subject area is responsible for doing his/her section of the webquest. Science, math, and social studies activities would take one or two class periods in a lab setting. Art will require more time due to a project being involved.
