Introduction
Your family is having
trouble getting into the Thanksgiving spirit this year. You
decide to take matters into your own hands to make this
holiday a truly happy and thankful time. Perhaps reminding
your relatives of their historical past and also providing
some present day fun filled activities will do the trick.
So, do some research, make a menu, plan those afternoon
activities (leave a little time for football and napping),
and help your family gather together.

Process
- Research the
First
Thanksgiving by taking the Thanksgiving cyber
challenge. Use the information that you gather to plan an
authentic Thanksgiving menu.
- Entertain the
family while they are waiting for the meal to be served
by telling Thanksgiving
riddles and jokes.
- Since you have
gobbled up all of the food, have a seat at the computer
and try to assemble the
Turkey Jigsaw Puzzle, color a Turkey, or test your brain with a
Thanksgiving
Word Search.
- Some family
members were not able to make the Thanksgiving feast. So
send them a
Thanksgiving e-card to let them know that they were
missed.
- While making your
leftover turkey sandwich, test your knowledge of what
your family has learned by taking the
Thanksgiving quiz.

Instead of just going in and sitting down to watch a
football game, perhaps many family traditions may be
started. Perhaps students will have a new understanding of
just how much work goes into a big family feast.
